Prison Chaplain - Rimutaka Prison
We need someone who has a deep faith, pastoral experience and who has some knowledge of te reo and tikanga Māori. You must be confident in providing group and individual services, pastoral support, as well as leading and coordinating volunteers. Experience working with mental health issues would be advantageous.
Significant ministry and pastoral counselling experience are required for the role, as is an appropriate level of mental and physical agility. It is important that you can work constructively as part of the chaplaincy and site management team and that you can be adaptable and flexible in your role. You will preferably either have a formal theological qualification or have made significant progress towards one.

Our Lenten Study this year utilises the Practicing the Way course within a wider session framework. We hope that it will encourage each of us as apprentices of Jesus and His way. Within the course, there is a particular emphasis on spiritual practices. Spiritual practices are an integral part of our formation as followers of Jesus. This course helps refresh the ways that we engage with them and weave them into the ordinary rhythms of our lives.
