The Shepherd and the Wilderness
Lent is a season of journeying, and few stories capture that better than the Exodus. In The Shepherd and the Wilderness, we read Psalm 23 through the story of a people led out of slavery, sustained in the desert, and drawn into the presence of God.
Over six weeks, from Ash Wednesday (10 February) to Easter Day (28 March), each week pairs one verse of the psalm with one episode of the journey. The pairings move from deliverance and daily manna to Sinai, the valley of shadow, the table spread before enemies, and the Tabernacle, where God dwells among the people.
The illustrated study booklet includes readings, reflections, discussion questions, prayer and space for journalling. It works well for parish groups, home groups, or on your own.
Nau mai, haere mai. Come and walk the road home together.
