Christmas reminds us that God’s kingdom looks like this. Celebrations where joy is shared freely, where the vulnerable are honoured, and where love overcomes fear.

The funds we use to hire storage for donated furniture and household goods have run out while the need for storage remains high.

Christ turns us from Despair to Hope

After the success of last year’s inaugural Christmas Crawl, two more Wellington City churches have joined the festive initiative for 2025.

Because when Christ comes:

Then will the eyes of the blind be opened
    and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
Then will the lame leap like a deer,
    and the mute tongue shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness
    and streams in the desert.

The burning sand will become a pool,
    the thirsty ground bubbling springs.
In the haunts where jackals once lay,
    grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.

The Main Street of Greytown was transformed into a living nativity scene as St Luke’s parish held its annual outdoor Christmas service under the summer sun. Complete with donkeys, sheep, and parishioners dressed as biblical characters, the event drew smiles from locals and visitors alike.

2nd Sunday of Advent/Te Rātapu Tuarua o te Haerenga Mai

Over 100 people gathered at St Barnabas Church for a festive afternoon of fun, food, and community connection.

“Way back in 1872 the first Anglican service was held in a sawmill in Palmerston North, and the foundation stone of the first Anglican church laid on 29th October 1875.”

We celebrate the ordination to the diaconate of Doug Rowan, Mark Huang, and Victoria and Hayden Brown.
