Position: Financial Administrator (Kaiwhakahaere Pūtea)
Location: Te Hui Amorangi ki te Ūpoko o te Ika, 72 Ellesmere Crescent
Reports to: Office Manager (Kaiwhakahaere)
Responsible for: Nil
About Us: Te Hui Amorangi ki Te Ūpoko o te Ika is the Māori Anglican Church of Te Ūpoko o te Ika. We are seeking a dedicated Financial Administrator to join our team. Our organisation supports various Rohe, vestries and associated entities, providing essential financial administration services. We are committed to maintaining high standards of financial integrity and efficiency.
Position Purpose: To assist the Te Hui Amorangi accountant in the effective financial administration of Te Hui Amorangi office Rohe, vestries and other associated entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform bank reconciliations and oversee bank accounts.
Prepare general ledger entries and ensure information accuracy.
Complete GST returns.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual performance reports.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Support the annual audit process and maintain Charities Registration.
Process creditor accounts and ensure timely payments.
Generate and process debtor invoicing.
Provide financial support and training to Nga Rohe, vestries.
Assist in developing and maintaining financial modelling systems.
Implement and monitor financial processes.
Payroll.
Skills & Knowledge:
Sound understanding of Xero.
Experience with financial reporting standards for NZ Charities (preferred but not essential).
Current full NZ driver's license.
Personal Attributes:
High initiative and ability to work independently.
Team player with strong communication skills.
Prudent time management and attention to detail.
Basic command of Te Reo Māori is an advantage, but not essential.

Provide occasional administrative support to staff.
