Season of Creation

The Season of Creation is an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with creation, and to consider how God may be calling us further into our Anglican Communion’s fifth mark of mission: “To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth.”

The season runs from 1st September, on the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation to 4th October, the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi and we have a ton of resources on our website to help celebrate the season.

One of the many ways we are marking the season together as a movement is with our Low Carbon Challenge. Groups from all over the diocese are setting goals to lower their carbon footprints.

On Saturday a group got together to plant trees in Brooklyn. Thirty years ago, the area was just gorse and grass and now it's beautiful bush. Don Smith, an Anglican at Newtown’s St Toms, lives next to the reserve and has been faithfully caring for it all these years – what an amazing effort!
