Reviving Sabeto Christian Camp in Fiji

A Mission to Inspire and Transform

For years, Sabeto Christian Camp in Fiji has been a place of spiritual growth and community.

Children’s camps, once a vibrant part of its ministry, have not run for some time. But that’s changing. This September, a new season begins as Fijian and New Zealand leaders come together to relaunch school holiday camps for local children.

A team of young leaders from Aotearoa New Zealand, experienced in cabin leadership and camp ministry, will partner with emerging Fijian youth leaders to support and co-lead the camp’s return. Together, they’ll share skills, strengthen leadership, and grow a programme that nurtures faith, joy, and learning for future camps.

This is more than a children’s programme, it’s a collaborative effort to invest in young Christian leaders in Fiji while helping local kids experience joy, learning, and the transformative love of God.

A Mission Fuelled by Faith and Partnership

This initiative is led by NZCMS mission partners Roy & Rachael Hogan, whose passion for Christian camping has driven them to bring structured fun and faith-based learning to Fijian children.

Last year, they ran a successful day camp, with local kids still asking when they’ll return. Thanks to a partnership with El Rancho and the Parish of Waikanae, this year’s full five-day camp (1-5 September 2025) aims to set a lasting foundation for future camps in Sabeto.

How You Can Make a Difference

Please pray for our planning, wisdom, open hearts, and lasting impact on the kids, youth leaders, and the team organising the trip. The team will be on the ground from 28 August to 8 September, and your daily prayers are gratefully received.

Many of the children in Sabeto come from families living in poverty, where opportunities for structured learning and recreation are limited. That’s why this mission is committed to covering costs, ensuring money isn’t a barrier to participation.

If you'd like to support the running costs for the camp or help fund the team of 21 volunteers travelling to Fiji, here’s how:
Help fund the camp: https://nzcms.infoodle.com/f/HogansProjectKidsCampInFiji

Help get the team of 21 to Fiji: Parish of Waikanae, ANZ, 01-0731-0019880-04 (put Sabeto Camp in the reference)

Thanks for your help to make this camp possible—for the children of Sabeto, and for the future of youth leadership in Fiji.
