Honouring Rev Henry Yap
The Anglican Chinese Mission (ACM) held a thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, 21 June 2025, to celebrate 14 years of faithful service by Missioner Rev Henry Yap, who will retire at the end of June.
About a hundred and fifty people, including many friends, community groups, clergy and family gathered to honour Rev Henry. The evening’s entertainment was provided by the ACM’s Sound of Praise Choir and the Lion Dance Troupe. Rev Henry also shared photographs of his years in ACM.
The Wellington Chinese Association and the Wellington Chinese Garden Society presented gifts in appreciation for Rev Henry’s contribution and support of their groups.
Speeches from Archdeacon Stephen King, Morris Wong, Errol Tong and Debbie Moon acknowledged and thanked Rev Henry for his many years of service. Bishop Anashuya prayed for Rev Henry at the conclusion of the evening.
ACM is grateful for the faithful ministry by Rev Henry and the many lives he has touched. He is greatly loved and we wish him every blessings in his retirement. Well done good and faithful servant.
In next week’s news, we’ll include an interview with Rev Henry and Rev Andrew Lim (incoming Anglican Chinese Missioner).
