Administration Assistant – Bishops’ Office
Location: Wellington-based (Anglican Centre)
Role Type: Fixed Term 6 Months
Hours: Part-time (16 hours per week)
Are you highly organised, proactive, and passionate about supporting our mission-focused work? We are seeking an experienced and versatile administrator to join the Bishops’ Office team, with a particular focus on support for the Bishop’s Office.
About the Role
This is a dynamic position that combines day-to-day admin responsibilities with longer-term planning and coordination for ministry and leadership development across the Diocese. This role is suited to someone who enjoys anticipating needs, initiating action, and managing multiple priorities with grace and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day administration, assistance and, support to the Archdeacon for Mission & Ministry.
Manage calendars, correspondence, and email communication with care and efficiency.
Organise travel, venues, catering, resources and bookings for meetings, events and training.
Maintain contact records, document filing, and expenditure reporting.
Coordinate book/resource sales and library loans.
Support reporting for Diocesan Council, Synod, and funding applications.
Assist with the sabbatical process and Ministry & Mission team activities.
Provide essential cover for Bishops’ administration needs while Deacon for Administration is on sabbatical.
We’re looking for someone who:
Is confident working independently while staying well-connected to a team.
Can juggle a variety of tasks and deadlines, with excellent attention to detail.
Has strong digital skills, especially with email, shared calendars, Zoom/Teams, and file management.
Brings warmth, initiative, and discretion in working with a wide range of people.
