Senior Priest (1.0 FTE), The Mid Canterbury
Mid Canterbury is seeking a Ministry Team Senior Priest who will lead ministry in the three newly yoked parishes of Mayfield–Mount Somers, Methven and Rakaia. The Senior Priest in the Mid Canterbury Ministry Team will be responsible to the Archdeacon of Mid Canterbury for the following:
the provision and development of ministry and mission in the yoked Parishes of Mayfield-Mount Somers, Methven and Rakaia
be accountable to the Archdeacon of Mid Canterbury through an agreed pattern of staff meetings, daily office and prayer (including in person and online)
working collaboratively with available ordained and lay ministers for the supply of presiding and preaching
seeking to identify, with the wardens and Archdeacon, appropriate people to train in areas of lay ministry
chairing the current vestries of the three yoked parishes, mandated, in conjunction with the Bishop and Archdeacon, to explore appropriate changes to ensure effective and workable governance of the congregations and churches in the three parishes
living in the Methven Vicarage, or in their own home in Mid Canterbury (preferably in one of the three parishes or Ashburton) for which they would receive a housing allowance.
Applicants must be Anglican priests currently in good standing with their present bishop in the Anglican Communion, who already have the right to work in New Zealand and are willing to undertake Police vetting.
