People Lead – Lay Minister or Associate Priest (Full-time)

We are looking for someone with a deeply committed faith, strong people skills, and a desire to see people find a place to belong and serve in our growing church community.

Our parish has grown significantly over the past few years and now we need to find someone who can help us ensure that people are connected in a meaningful way in our parish life.

The People Lead role is centred on fostering belonging, participation, and care within the church community. The primary focus is empowering people to serve, lead, and care for one another through a diverse and innovative range of small groups and ministries.

This role prioritises the encouragement, training and support of volunteer leaders, who in turn lead groups, initiate ministries, and provide pastoral care.

The People Lead facilitates clear pathways for connection, pastoral support, prayer, discipleship, and faith exploration.

The role also holds operational oversight of the wider volunteer community, ensuring ongoing safety, compliance, and alignment with the church’s values and specific strategic goals.

The People Lead will strengthen and expand systems that enable sustainable, congregation-wide care and participation.

Applicants must already have the right to work in New Zealand and be willing to undertake police vetting. Applicants who are priests or deacons must be currently in good standing with their present bishop.
