A preparation

E Ihowa o Ngā Mano
Whakatata mai rā
Ki a mātou
E rapu nei mōu.

Almighty God
Draw nearer to us,
Who seek you.

Arohaina mai,
i tā mātou tangi
Ki a rātou kua wehe atu
Meinga kia tiakina e tōu ringa aroha
Rātou ki a rātou,
Mātou ki a mātou.

Grant us your compassion
We who weep for our departed ones.
May your loving hand keep them.
Death to death;
And life to life.

Ka koropiko-
Ka whakawhētai-
Ka whakamoemiti-
Ake tonu atu.
Āmine.

And so we worship you-
We give you our thanks-
We praise you-
Forever
Amen.

Let us pray for the church and the world

E te Atua, Loving God
We pray for our world,
This abundant and generous place of life
Help us to live in your abundance
without taking from others their share;
May your Holy Spirit move leaders across the world-
from fear
to generosity.
From darkness to light.
O God, we cry out for peace,
in places where there is no peace.

Bidding: E te Ariki, we stretch out our hands to you.  Response: and you fill them.

We give thanks for our church;
You sent your beloved Son
That we might know this love
that surpasses knowledge—
that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
May this knowledge
Send us out into your world,
Even with nervous steps,
To share your Gospel;
And to love one another.

Bidding: E te Ariki, we stretch out our hands to you.  Response: and you fill them.

We thank you for our communities;
In all their forms.
While we look to you and you give us our daily bread
at the proper time;
may your hands become our hands.
In our neighbourhoods, our schools, our malls, our kitchens,
our places of worship;
May we live in community:
May we love,
weep,
and laugh,
May there be bread enough for all, and some left over.

Bidding: E te Ariki, we stretch out our hands to you.  Response: and you fill them.

E te Wairua Tapu
Holy Spirit
Magnify in us those good gifts you gave us
When we emerged from the waters of our baptism;
That we may magnify God
And share Christ’s love
With all.

Amen.
