Sunday 21 July 2024

16th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Taken from/inspired by 2 Samuel 7: 1-14a ,Psalm 89:20-36, Ephesians 2: 11-22, Mark 6:30-34, 53-56, and the ANZPB

Bidding: He will not take His love from us;

Response: He will never betray His faithfulness.

We thank you for our communities.
Remind us that, in Christ,
there are neither foreigners, nor strangers.
Build us together;
make us a dwelling place for your Spirit.

Bidding: He will not take His love from us;

Response: He will never betray His faithfulness.

We pray for our church.
Without you,
we are like sheep without a shepherd.
Gather us around the Cornerstone
and soften our hearts to your call.

Bidding: He will not take His love from us;

Response: He will never betray His faithfulness.

We pray for creation.
Sustain it with your right hand;
may peace be preached to those who are far away
and those who are near.

Bidding: He will not take His love from us;

Response: He will never betray His faithfulness.

Father,
imprint upon our hearts
that because we belong to you
no one can pluck us from your hand,
and because we fear you
we need fear no other.
This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
