Bidding: Lord, hear us;

Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

“…Every good and perfect gift is from above.”
We thank you for our families and neighbourhoods;
the people we were born into, and the people we are coming to know.
Direct us to those who need your love,
help us to accept that love ourselves.

[silence]

Bidding: Lord, hear us;

Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lord Jesus, you said:
“‘These people honour me with their lips,
    but their hearts are far from me.
 They worship me in vain;
    their teachings are merely human rules.”
[Mark 7:7]
We pray for your church.
Open our hearts to your Word;
enliven our faith,
And lead us to action.

[silence]

Bidding: Lord, hear us;

Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for your world, the whole of creation.
“Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever;
    a sceptre of justice will be the sceptre of your kingdom.
You love righteousness and hate wickedness…”

[Psalm 45:6-7]

One day, the winter will pass.
We pray for those who cry out for justice.

[silence]

Bidding: Lord, hear us;

Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Amen.
