Tenancy Manager

Want a role where you will be helping people and a community to flourish? We are seeking a residential tenancy manager to manage our new community housing developments. The role is Wellington-based, part-time with scope to grow in step with our housing programme.

About us:

The Anglican Diocese of Wellington has established a Housing Programme to implement housing projects in partnership with the local parishes. The Housing Programme is transforming under-utilised land and buildings into quality and affordable housing stock in local communities across the lower North Island. Our first development of 8 units in Taitā was completed at the start of this year and is now fully tenanted. We have three more developments (in Whanganui and Tokomaru) nearing completion in the coming months, and have several additional developments pending.

Our approach to tenancy management is to be supportive, transparent and consistent. Allowing respectful relationships to grow is key, and we look for opportunities to grow a sense of community amongst our tenants. We want our tenants to flourish while they live in our dwellings.

The role:

The role is a balance of both the detail and the bigger picture. Relationships are key to how you work and achieve great outcomes.  You will be a member of our busy Property team who are responsible for working in partnership with the 60 parishes in our Diocese.

We are seeking a motivated, proactive person to help us reach our goal of residential developments being actively managed while creating a context for flourishing residential communities in positive relationship with participating parishes.

What we offer:

A good salary, laptop and phone. Mileage is paid but a car is not provided.

Our offices are based in central Wellington. You are expected to have some hours in the office on the core working day of Tuesday, but there will be flexibility to work from home, and the job will see hours completed at the housing developments. You will receive on-the-job training from members of the Diocesan team who implemented our Housing Programme. We will also support you to establish key relationships with the tenants and the leadership of the local parishes participating in the Programme. There will be support from other members of the Diocesan office team, who administer the Tenancy Management system (MRI Palace).
