EPB Occupation Assessment
The purpose of this assessment is to assist in making decisions on whether or not to use the earthquake prone building while the strengthening process is ongoing. This assessment has taken the BRANZ Decision Framework for earthquake-prone council buildings and converted it into a spreadsheet calculator. While church buildings are not council buildings, the role of church buildings overlaps significantly with the role of council buildings. Church buildings are used to meet a variety of needs for their local communities. The closure of church buildings will not only affect the parish, but the wider community. As such, the decision framework created by BRANZ can be used as a part of the decision making process for the occupation of earthquake-prone buildings. Non-EPB Occupation Assessment
The purpose of this assessment is to provide some additional information about your building based on its seismic rating, occupancy, and usage. This assessment should be used for buildings that are greater than 34%NBS and therefore are not earthquake prone. This assessment does not provide advice, it provides information that can be used as a part of the decision-making process with regards to seismic risk.
