Zambezia Project Appeal Update

This week, we caught up with Rev. Wendy Scott for an update on the project appeal for the Diocese of Zambezia.

She says, based on conversations with our partners in this project, the situation in Mozambique has changed, and we have jointly determined that project is no longer viable in its current capacity.

“It’s incredibly disappointing for both Wellington Diocese and Anglican Missions,” says Wendy.

“But we back the expertise of Anglican Missions and their commitment to best practise. Their passion and skill in the aid and development sphere can be trusted and I’m proud to work with them”.

“Our recommendation now is that the Zambezia funds already generously donated now go to support the Mozambique cyclone flooding appeal.

“Cyclone Freddy caused widespread devastation and highlighted the challenges of growing poverty and the impact of climate change in Mozambique.

“Wellington Diocese and Anglican Missions are committed to mission and supporting the least among us. Therefore, I fully support this decision,” says Wendy.
