Whanganui Parish Housing Efforts Hit the News

Efforts by Whanganui Parish to put housing on church land were recognized on the front page of the Whanganui Chronicle over the weekend.

Through Bedrock Housing, the Diocese of Wellington’s housing programme, Whanganui Parish has a plan to provide up to 19 new homes.

Two are already in place next to St Luke’s in Castlecliff, and two are on their way to church land at St Peter’s in Gonville.

Two more are planned for the St Peter’s site and four at the All Saints site in Whanganui East.

The homes fill a gap in the market for one- and two-bedroom units and offer a church community where social and other support is possible.
