Priest in charge

St Augustines is a family friendly Parish that welcomes all and loves to Worship the Lord endeavouring to meet the challenges of an ever changing community and world.

We are seeking a Priest in charge who will partner with our active congregation offering Christ centred Spiritual leadership and Worship, working with the Parish team (Wardens, Ministry assistant and Parish manager),  nurturing and developing the gifts of many people with talents to become disciples out in our world.

The position is an 0.5FTE role.

We have a four bedroom vicarage available as well as paying proportionate other standard allowances.

Our congregation is a mix of all generations, predominantly working and retired. Some have lifelong association with St Augustines and others have joined more recently.

We are all dedicated to what having Jesus in our lives means and discipling to each other and those in our community.

Within the congregation, of 30-40 regular worshippers , many also meet during the week in small groups.

Petone a busy hub of Cafes,  is the service town for surrounding areas of Horokiwi, Korokoro, Maungaraki and Alicetown and also serves as a commuter hub for the City of Wellington and Lower Hutt.

We provide community support to the Food bank and help run the weekday Breakfast Club to the schoolchildren next door.

St Augustines facilities are hired out to multiple external groups throughout the week, providing a point of connection with the wider community and a source of income for the Parish.
