Teams needed for Cyclone response
“A mountain of need” is how Matt Crawshaw, Diocesan Social Transformation and Community Development Manager, describes the scene in Hawke’s Bay after arriving with a team to support the Cyclone Gabrielle response.
His team is on-the-ground providing fresh energy for weary folk by cleaning, washing, digging and sorting through the destruction wrought on the Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti regions.
To demonstrate our aroha in this challenging time our diocese is working with Waiapu Bishop Andrew Hedge and Anglican Missions to coordinate teams of volunteers who can give the practical and physical support that’s needed.
We invite willing and able volunteers to register interest in helping the recovery. If you are fit and healthy and can go with less than a week’s notice then please register below.
Further information about logistics will be provided after registration.
We also urge those who are able, to support Anglican Mission Board’s Cyclone Gabrielle Emergency Appeal. Financial support is still the number one need for communities as supplies and infrastructure is purchased to recover and rebuild.
Please give generously.
