Taken from/inspired by Haggai 1:15-2:9, Psalm 145: 1-5,16-20 and Psalm 98, 2 Thessalonians: 1-5, 13-17, Luke 20:27-38 and the ANZPB

Bidding: The Lord opens His hand
Response:  to satisfy the desires of every living thing.
[based on Psalm 145:16]

Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.

Let the rivers clap their hands,
    let the mountains sing together for joy;

let them sing before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.

[Psalm 98:7-9]

Let us pray.

Lord, our communities join creation
In praise and petition.
Bind us together, Lord.

[silence]

Bidding: The Lord opens His hand
Response:  to satisfy the desires of every living thing.

…brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
[2nd Thessalonians 2:15]

Lord Jesus,
make your church attentive to your words
and strengthen us in your Spirit.

[silence]

Bidding: The Lord opens His hand
Response:  to satisfy the desires of every living thing.

…in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.
[Luke 20: 37-38]

We pray for the world we live in.
God of the living, raise the dead.

[silence]

Bidding: The Lord opens His hand
Response: to satisfy the desires of every living thing.

The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty
[Haggai 2:9]

Almighty God, you have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts and set us free from the bondage of sin; give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service, that we and all your people may be brought to the glorious liberty of the children of God; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
