Rev. Caleb Rowe Appointed as National Leader of New Wine New Zealand

Exciting news for the Wellington Diocese and the New Wine Aotearoa community—Rev. Caleb Rowe has been appointed as the new National Leader for New Wine New Zealand!

With a deep love for local church life and a heart for wider ministry, Caleb (Co Vicar in the Parish of Whanganui) is stepping into this role with a strong sense of calling.

“I love the local parish setting—the everyday discipleship and the movement of God in people’s lives,” Caleb shares. “But I also feel a broader call to encourage and equip the wider Church.”

Bishop Justin Duckworth reflects on how wonderful it is to see Caleb step into this role.

“It takes great courage to say ‘Yes’ to the opportunities God puts before us, so I’m thrilled to see Caleb respond to God’s invitation. I know Caleb’s gifts will be a tremendous blessing to the church across Aotearoa New Zealand.”

New Wine Aotearoa has long been known for its passion in helping churches learn and train in the ways of the Holy Spirit.

Caleb is eager to continue and grow that mission. “I’m excited about encouraging the Church to allow God to move in power, to be humbly empowered by Him, and to discover what the Church can be when we live in that space.”

Caleb also brings with him a deep appreciation for the Diocese of Wellington. “I love the Wellington Diocese. We’ve got a particular passion towards social justice. The Spirit has always been instrumental in these movements. They really go hand in hand—pursuing justice in the ways of the Spirit while being rooted in God’s love.”

He begins his role with New Wine in July, starting one day a week and increasing to two days from October, while continuing his ministry in Whanganui.

With Caleb at the helm, New Wine Aotearoa is set for an exciting season of renewal and empowerment. We can’t wait to see how God moves through this next chapter!
