Loving Brooklyn Witnesses to the Goodness of God

The Brooklyn Twilight Festival is on this Saturday from 2 - 9 pm on Harrison St and the grounds of the Brooklyn Community Centre.

Last year the Brooklyn Anglican Parish partnered with a variety of other local community groups to restart the Brooklyn Community Festival after 14 years absent. The festival was a huge success, with over 5000 people attending. This year, they’re doing it again on November 16.

The Brooklyn Twilight Festival, which runs from 2-9pm, will include over 60 stalls and food-trucks, bouncy castles, face painting, beer & wine, and two stages featuring beloved Aotearoa entertainers including Suzy Cato, Graeme James, and Grayson Gilmour.

The festival is built on the work of Brooklyn Anglicans, Brooklyn Community Centre, Vogelmorn Community Group, and a number of other local trusts, businesses, and community organisations.

“For us as a church, we believe that loving Brooklyn and making it a more joyful place to live is part of how we witness to the goodness of God” said Priest in Charge Rev. Scottie Reeve. “Last year’s festival was full of beautiful little moments of God’s Kingdom breaking through, and it was also a huge catalyst for building new relationships and deepening friendships we are already making in the neighbourhood.”

The Brooklyn Twilight Festival would not be possible without the support of Wellington City Council, The BRC Trust, The Vogelmorn Foundation, One Foundation, Pub Charity, Lowe & Co, 1852 Pub & Kitchen, and Windy City Builders.
