Can you help gather submissions on the Treaty Principles Bill?

Common Grace Aotearoa are organising to gather submissions on the Treaty Principles Bill.

They seek representatives from local parishes or mission units to inform people about the Bill and help write submissions.

They are working alongside tangata whenua advisors and external experts like Dr Carwyn Jones of Te Wānanga o Raukawa to prepare concise and accessible submission guides and video content.

The goal is to help Christians of all backgrounds understand what the bill proposes, why many people are deeply concerned, and how they can have their say.

There are two options for gathering submissions:

  • OPTION 1: Run a workshop. Gather to watch a 90-minute video that outlines what the bill proposes, why many people are deeply concerned, and how you can have your say.

  • OPTION 2: Gather submissions at a Sunday service: Use our 5-minute video and submission guide, and invite your faith community to submit during or after a Sunday service.

If you’re interested in coordinating local submissions, register now to access all the relevant resources to help you prepare.

Let’s support this mahi to bring faith-filled presence to the Select Committee process, and show that Christians of all backgrounds will speak up for Te Tiriti's promise of mutual flourishing.
