Intermediate Camp Sparks Faith and Connection
We had a special time at Intermediate Camp, based at Foxton Bible Camp once again. The weekend was filled with fun activities, creative workshops, beautiful worship, our classic all-in camp-wide games, and Dane’s incredible kai!
Through our speakers and workshop content, we explored the theme of God always being with us. Our speakers shared personal stories of discovering this truth, woven together with stories of Jesus. Our workshops gave the young people different ways to process this theme, through art, friendship bracelets and candle-making, with something to take home as a reminder. Our hope is that the rangatahi came away with their own new discoveries about the relationship Jesus offers, and to pursue that friendship in their everyday lives.
There were plenty of highlights throughout the weekend. The afternoon brought a four-way Capture the Flag tournament, followed by a lively and competitive game of football. The evening wide game was another favourite, with an intricate setup of leaders-versus-rangatahi tag, complete with stations, a prison, and multiple lives. The whole camp was buzzing!
Our time together at camp felt like a glimpse of the Kingdom coming, with Jesus at work throughout the whole weekend. It reminded us how special it is to gather together as a whānau, to stoke the embers, and spark renewed energy for our own youth contexts.
