Experience Imaginative Prayer Rev. Judith Wigglesworth

Rev. Judith Wigglesworth invites participants to experience a transformative way of praying with scripture in her upcoming workshop on imaginative prayer.

Judith’s workshop is at the Masterton Kairos Training Day at 2:35 pm.

Drawing on the teachings of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Rev. Wigglesworth describes the practice as an opportunity to encounter the risen Christ in a deeply personal and imaginative way.

"Have you met the risen Christ lately? How do you meet Jesus in your praying?" she asks. "Come and taste the gift of your own imagination as a way of praying with scripture – come, be open, be blessed."

She admits that offering this workshop feels like "a bit of a leap of faith." However, she approaches it with a learner's heart, encouraging others to join her in "climbing inside the mystery of the Gospel story" and allowing it to come to life in the present time.

Reflecting on her own experience, Judith shares, "At first I was surprised at the ease with which I seemed to be able to ‘drop into’ a guided imaginative prayer experience; now I give thanks for the profound gift I’m offered as I encounter Jesus, risen, present, and real, speaking into where and how I am."

The workshop will begin with a time of centering and quiet reflection before participants are guided through one of Jesus’ resurrection appearances.
