Church and medical centre work together for community

In these times of medical vulnerability, our Plimmerton whānau have found a way to serve their local community through the use of their facilities. The Plimmerton Medical Centre wanted to offer flu vaccinations to their entire roll before the pandemic arrived in their community, and they reached out to the church over the road, St Andrew's Anglican Church, for help.

Willing to oblige, the parish has offered their facility free of charge for vaccination clinics on the weekends. Medical Centre Practice Manager Trudi Smith told the Bishop's Warden, Peter Dennison: "the Parish Centre is a wonderful facility and is working very well for our flu clinics. We estimate at least 600 vaccinations will be given to our patients this season."

Peter said "the parish is pleased to help the medical centre provide a community service during these unprecedented times of community isolation."
