A tale of two Training Days
The kaupapa of Training Day has always been a gathering of the extended whānau, whilst upskilling and learning in the areas of ministry God is calling us into. And that kaupapa was strongly held to at our recent Training Day events, despite one of them being held online due to the week-long Level 2 lockdown.

This Training Day was the first of our duplicated events, giving us a greater chance to get our friends and teams along for a fantastic family gathering. The first event was held in Palmerston North, where those of us from the north of the diocese were able to gather in person for a day full of inspiring and encouraging content. Before the end of the day, the Prime Minister announced the level change and the events team at the Anglican swung into action, re-crafting the Wellington event into an online one.
More than 20 parishes from the south of the diocese were represented online, and whilst some watched in their homes, some of us gathered in lounges and parish halls for a Training Day watch party. Opportunities were given for prayer and reflection throughout the day, and feedback on the Zoom chat function suggested that there was much appreciation for the content prepared.
The benefit of having held an online Training Day is that the opportunity to engage in the content is ongoing. Zoom recordings of each workshop will be made available on the Training Day website in the coming week.
