Holy God
We seek your face.
May those who have left this life
rest well in you.
May we who remain open our hearts to you.
Together.
Amen.
For the Church
E te Atua [God] Bless your Church
this worldwide body
that knows how to be Christ’s body in this place;
that knows what it means to imagine and therefore to live equality and peace,
that knows also how to wait patiently for you.
Strengthen us, your church to be and do all these things,
in the face of our own self-doubt and unbelief.
Bidding & Response
E te Ariki, whakarongo mai ki tā mātou īnoi Kia tae atu ā mātou tangi ki a koe.
[or]
Lord, hear our prayer and let our cry come to you.
For the world and for this place
E te Karaiti [Christ], in this world
May your peace be at work in us.
Where there is disconnection, may we connect in truth,
where there is alienation, may we come home,
Where we cry from the depths across the world, in places of war, want & ignorance,
May your voice be heard.
Where we cry from the depths wherever love is crushed,
May your voice be heard.
E te Ariki, whakarongo mai ki tā mātou īnoi Kia tae atu ā mātou tangi ki a koe.
[or]
Lord, hear our prayer and let our cry come to you.
E te Wairua Tapu [Holy Spirit]
In these days of increased pressure and insecurity,
where our homes, or the homes of others, are places that extinguish hope, and hide pain
Walk with us.
Help us to account for ourselves before you.
In the days before us,
walk with us that we may both give and share
of the sheer abundance of life.
E te Ariki, whakarongo mai ki tā mātou īnoi Kia tae atu ā mātou tangi ki a koe.
[or]
Lord, hear our prayer and let our cry come to you.
