It all started with a dream. How many of us have said that! I never imagined myself travelling down the road to priesthood.

I was quite happy going under the radar serving Jesus.

But, I had THE dream.

In the dream, I saw myself with my head down, trying to go under cover down the aisle, so no one would see me.

Once I made it to the back room, I snuck a look at the people who were there. The church was full of priests, praying for each other.

I so desperately wanted to be in that room, but voices from the past kept trying to put me back in my place.

Then I felt it.

A tangible BOOM!

Like a Holy Spirit shockwave right through me, and I knew I had to be in there.

I took a deep breath and stepped forward….

And here I am today on the road to ordination.

The longing in my heart to see God’s Kingdom come in society, is stronger than the voices that try to put me back in my box.

The pounding in my chest to see God’s heart being revealed to the youth of today, is louder than the pull to stay with what is comfortable.

The desire to see life long disciples pick up their cross and be wrecked for Jesus, is so strong it wakes me up at night.

So, I’m picking up my cross and wearing my heart on my sleeve.

I’m laying down my life to pick up the one God had planned for me so many years ago.

The last eight years of parenting 3 teenagers and being involved in youth work, have brought me full circle to the prophetic passage of Isaiah 61, that was given to me when I was 16 years old.

Let’s see where He leads us.
