Invitation to Apply for the 2025 Vaughan Park Resident Scholarship Programme
The Governance Board is pleased to announce that submissions are now open for the 2025 Vaughan Park Resident Scholarship Programme. This Scholarship offers successful applicants a supportive and encouraging space for reflection, study, and work in the serene environment of Vaughan Park.
About the Scholarship
The Vaughan Park Resident Scholarship fosters theological research and reflection, bridging the gap between ancient wisdom and modern understanding. It provides scholars with the resources and space needed for intensive inquiry, promoting intellectual growth and innovative thinking.
Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants can be lay or ordained and should:
· Hold a recognized level of tertiary education.
· Be committed to an approved subject of study.
· Be able to reside at Vaughan Park for the Scholarship period.
Projects should have a clear theological connection and can be written or visual.
Scholarship Details
· Comfortable en-suite studio accommodation with all meals provided.
· Scholarship periods of one or two months, depending on Board approval.
· Available throughout the year, except for January and December (Centre closed over Easter).
Application Process
Submit applications via email to the Director of Vaughan Park, Lesley Snyman, at director@vaughanpark.org.nz. Address applications to "The Scholarship Grants Committee." The application deadline is COB on Monday, September 30, 2024.
· Short Biography: Outline your background and qualifications.
· Abstract and Study Context: Describe your project and its theological connection.
· References: Include at least two, but no more than three, references.
· Preferred Study Periods: Indicate three preferred months for your residency.
Notes
The Scholarship will be valid only in the year it is granted.
Applicants may originate from any country; however, they will be accountable for all travel arrangements, costs, and related liability.
