Appointment - Parish of Johnsonville

Bishops Justin and Anashuya are pleased to announce the appointment of Reverend Lucy Flatt as Vicar in the Parish of Johnsonville.

Rev Lucy is due to begin her new ministry in July and is looking forward to working with the Johnsonville team to further extend God’s kingdom.

She says, “The writer of Ecclesiastes writes, ‘There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens’. We have thoroughly enjoyed the season God has led us through in the St John's Parish of Highfield, Kensington and Otipua (Timaru).

“We have heard and responded to God's call to new challenges and opportunities as we seek to follow Him as a family on mission.

“We give thanks to God for the Church family here in Timaru and the support and prayer they have covered us in, and we ask for your continued prayers for every member of our household as we embark on this season of change.

“I am excited to be taking up the role of Vicar of another St John's Parish – this one in Johnsonville, Wellington,” said Lucy.

Bishop’s Warden for Johnsonville, Roger Ellis, said, “We’re delighted that Lucy is joining us and we look forward to welcoming her, Cameron and family to Wellington. Lucy’s commitment to making Jesus known and her aim to empower others to live a life poured out for the kingdom is truly inspirational. Our Parish seeks to help fulfil both the Great Commission and the Greatest Commandments as we reach out and connect with the communities of which we are a part.”
