Te Korōria Construction Begins in Karori

Building has begun on Te Korōria, a community social enterprise facility, developed by Karori Anglican to support whānau through a welcoming community space.

The facility will add whānau counselling, unique soft play area, a hospitality space and opportunities for “first  jobs” to the church’s existing early childhood and after school programmes.

Project Manager Kate Harvey-Green says, “The idea is for the community to have a space for all ages to enjoy. There will be a three-storied softplay for children to play in while parents or caregivers can connect over a coffee.”

Kate says the project has been soaked in prayer with the whole congregation listening to where they believe God is moving at Karori Anglican and that getting to this point is a sign of God’s tremendous provision.

“Please hold Te Korōria in your prayers as the building work continues and for it to be a unique place in the community, where people can see God’s love in action” she says.

This project is a result of the congregations faithful planning since 2012 when existing halls were earthquake condemned. It’s so exciting that it can now open in early 2023.

More information about the project, including how to contribute to the project, can be found on Karori Anglican’s website at www.karorianglican.org.nz.
