Opportunity to give in this year's Anglican Missions Lenten Appeal
Supporting maternity care in the Diocese of Jerusalem, youth leadership development in Egypt, or water quality improvements in the Solomon Islands - these are the worthy projects being supported in this year's Anglican Missions Lenten Appeal.
As Lent draws to a close, we are reminded of the opportunity to financially support three important projects.
This year we are supporting:
St Luke’s Hospital, Nablus (Diocese of Jerusalem). We hope there will be sufficient funds for the hospital to buy 3 new maternity beds. St Luke’s provides critical maternity care for local women in a city of around 300,000 people where Covid-19 has hampered travel in a region where life for many can be difficult.
The Diocese of Egypt Youth Ministry (Province of Alexandria) will be assisted as it rolls out a nine-month youth leadership programme that aims to build resilience for the next generation of church leaders.
The Anglican Church of Melanesia has requested help to install adequate water systems for three of its religious communities in the Solomon Islands. This will not only benefit the religious communities but also nearby villages. Additional funds raised will go to the Christian Care Centre in Honiara which provides support and shelter for vulnerable women and children.

Prayer from Diocese of Jerusalem for St Luke’s Hospital, Nablus: Our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray that you keep our hospital and employees safe and well - give them good health and energy as they work at St. Luke's Hospital, keeping it a place where love and care is provided, a place where there is a healing ministry to the sick and suffering, particularly poor and needy patients and especially during the time of the coronavirus pandemic. Amen.
Prayer for the Diocese of Egypt: Lord, we give thanks for the Christian congregations of Egypt and in particular we pray for the youth that they will feel equipped and encouraged by the youth leadership training being offered. May they always find their home in Jesus. Amen
Prayer for the Anglican Church of Melanesia: Almighty God, we give thanks for those brothers and sisters in the church of Melanesia who choose to serve you - for the religious communities and for the sisters who support the vulnerable at the Christian Care Centre in Honiara. We pray for the successful and safe installation of water tanks and systems; and that these will be a blessing for these communities. We thank you Lord for your provision. Amen
