New Beginning for Strathmore Community Church

Peninsula Parish recently gathered around the Pringle whānau to commission their work to re-plant a congregation in Strathmore.

Co-Vicar Andy Spence says, “It’s a great journey they are undertaking alongside Peninsula Parish, as we try to spread the Diocesan Vision here on Te Motu Kairangi.

This is a re-sending of Strathmore Community Church but in a new form.

Andy continues, “We are so encouraged to journey alongside this crew and tautoko (support and back) their desire to reach new disciples for Christ.”

Ben and Lizzie Pringle lead the Strathmore Urban Vision team and described the commissioning as a special moment.

“It was a profound blessing to be prayerfully ‘sent out’ from St Aidan’s as a missional plant within the Strathmore community,” says Ben.

“As we start Strathmore Community Church at our local community centre, we do so knowing that we remain part of the Peninsula Parish.”

Andy notes that Ben and Lizzie will remain part of Peninsula Parish and encourages us all to cover them and their Urban Vision team in prayer.
