Four Weeks on Mission 2025: Equipping Churches to Engage Globally

NZCMS launches a fresh suite of resources to inspire and connect churches across Aotearoa with the global mission of God.

A Call to Deeper Connection

The New Zealand Church Missionary Society (NZCMS) is inviting churches across Aotearoa to take part in Four Weeks on Mission 2025—a new resource series designed to deepen engagement with global mission through prayer, scripture, and storytelling. Launching this August, the series offers a rich blend of teaching, testimony, and tools to help churches explore what it means to be part of God’s mission in the world.

“This is about helping churches in Aotearoa connect with the global Church in a meaningful way,” says NZCMS Director Rosie Fyfe. “We want to equip people to see how their prayers, their giving, and their openness to God’s call can make a real difference.”

Four Key Themes, One Global Vision

The resource is built around four central questions that invite reflection and action:

  • How can prayer for the global Church connect us to God’s presence, purpose and power?

  • What can we give today to further the story of mission here in Aotearoa?

  • What does a call from God to go overseas look like?

  • Why is connecting with a wider community essential to global mission?

Each theme is unpacked through a 15-minute teaching video, rooted in key passages from the book of Romans. These videos are designed to be used in Sunday services or small group settings, making them flexible for a range of church contexts.

Stories That Inspire

Alongside the teaching content, Four Weeks on Mission features stories from NZCMS Global Mission Partners and Māori Evangelists. These testimonies bring the themes to life, offering real-world examples of how God is at work through ordinary people in extraordinary ways.

“We’ve seen how powerful it is when churches hear directly from those serving in mission,” Rosie says. “It’s not just theory—it’s lived experience. These stories help us see the breadth and beauty of God’s work around the world.”

Tools for Every Church

When churches sign up, they’ll receive a full suite of resources to support their journey through the series:

  • Four 15-minute teaching videos

  • Four Bible studies

  • Stories from Global Mission Partners and Māori Evangelists

  • PowerPoint graphics to promote the series in church

Some Anglican churches dedicate a specific month to mission, often referred to as ‘Missions Month’. These resources are designed to be flexible and can be used by churches during Missions Month, as well as by others seeking mission-focused content at any time throughout the year.

A Shared Journey

Rosie believes that Four Weeks on Mission is more than just a resource—it’s an invitation. “We’re not just offering content; we’re inviting churches to step into a shared journey of faith, generosity, and global connection,” she says. “Whether you’re a small rural parish or a large urban congregation, this series is for you.”

As churches across Aotearoa prepare for Missions Month, NZCMS hopes this resource will spark fresh conversations, renewed prayer, and a deeper sense of partnership with the global Church.
