AYM at Easter Camp 2026

We had an awesome Easter weekend joining the Baptists in relaunching Central Easter Camp. It was a big event, with over 700 people attending, so El Rancho was pumping with energy over the weekend!

Our young people bonded throughout the weekend across the many events on offer. Top Team was a huge hit, with energetic chants, team dress-ups, beach volleyball, sponge throwing, and water slides, creating lots of fun and shared memories. The main sessions and small group time facilitated great discussions about God’s love and what good news the Easter story offers us.

Another space where connection naturally happened was during downtime at each youth group’s gazebo across the tenting area. This setup encouraged organic hangout time and helped build deeper relationships within our youth groups by the end of camp.

In the evenings, AYM had a vibrant team serving free pancakes and hot chocolate to the masses. This created a great atmosphere within the AYM marquee in the village, where people mingled, relaxed on beanbags and couches, and connected under the festoon lights. It became a cool space for crossover and connection between different youth groups, Anglican and Baptist alike.

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend with our wider church whānau.
