Anglican Studies Semester 2 Enrolments Open

Many of our whānau have taken part and appreciated the Doing Theology: Being Church 5-week taster course developed and run over lockdown by our Anglican Studies programme in conjunction with St John’s College.

Whether you’ve joined in this course and now want to keep studying, or are just keen to go deeper in theological learning, Semester 2 registrations for the following Anglican Studies papers are now open:

  • BST510 Old Testament Theology (15 credits)

  • THE512 Doing Theology: Sharing Sacraments (5 credits)

These papers are open to everyone - whether you want to study for credit towards an NZ Diploma in Christian Studies, or just for fun, you’re welcome to enrol. There will be about two to three hours of reading per week, and an essay at the end. These are requirements for those studying for credit, but if you just want to learn and be part of the discipleship community, then you only need to attend the lectures - the reading and essay are optional.

The papers will be delivered in the following ways:

Old Testament Theology will be delivered over the course of two weekend intensives: 24-26 July at St Michael’s Church and Marae, Palmerston North and 4-6 September at Hiruharama (Jerusalem) on the Whanganui River.

Sharing Sacraments will be delivered via Zoom over the course of 5 weeks, with two one-hour lectures per week (like Doing Theology: Being Church was delivered in Semester 1).

If you would like to enrol, complete the following forms by 3 July:
