Changes ahead for AYM leadership

Changes are afoot in our Anglican Youth Movement (AYM) whānau. Luke and Amilie Paynter, who currently lead AYM team, have announced their intention to step down from the role. Their final date is subject to conversations with their successor/s, to ensure a smooth transition between leaders. They will still lead the AYM intentional community houses during transition time.

Luke and Amilie have led AYM since February 2016 and we have benefited hugely from their mahi and leadership in this season. Thankfully for us, we are not losing them from the movement. The Paynter family have felt called to the very north of the diocese, and during 2021 are planning to transition to Ohakune to begin exploring ministry opportunities there.

We ask you to hold Luke, Amilie, Zeke, Isla, Zeph and Astrid in your prayers, and to pray also for God to call new leadership into this space to continue to develop and strengthen this core part of our movement. Pray also for the other AYM leaders and the wider body of young adults living in intentional community under this team, who will now be undergoing a period of change.

We plan to advertise for their replacement(s) immediately to ensure good transition. Keep an eye on the Vacancies page for further updates.
