Johanne Lohse Bequest for Tertiary Study Scholarship to Daughters of Clergy

GENERAL INFORMATION

2027 ACADEMIC YEAR

1. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide assistance towards the cost of tertiary studies to the daughters of any clergy person who holds, or has held, a Bishop’s License in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand & Polynesia.

2. The scholarships are available for applicants studying for a first degree. They may be awarded for any subject.

3. The number of scholarships is limited by the funds available and the quality of the applicants.

Currently scholarships are generally for $1,000 per annum and will be awarded for studies commencing in 2027.

4. Scholarships are available for up to five years and amounts are at the discretion of the Trustees.

5. They are available for study anywhere in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the continent of Europe, or Australia.

6. Candidates must be between 17 and 26 years of age at the time of application, and produce evidence of birth and baptism, and have been resident within the boundaries of the New Zealand Anglican Church for three years. One parent must hold, or have held, a Bishop's Licence in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand & Polynesia.

7. Applications open annually in September when Application Forms will be available to download from the Diocese of Christchurch website http://anglicanlife.org.nz/ or by e-mailing cptofficemanager@anglicanlife.org.nz. Applications must be returned by 30th October 2026 to be considered for the 2027 academic year.
