30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Taken from/inspired by Job 42:1-6;10-17, Psalm 34:1-8;19-22, Hebrews 7:23-28, Mark 10:46-52 and the ANZPB

Bidding: I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
Response: He delivered me from all my fears

I will extol the Lord at all times;
    his praise will always be on my lips.
 I will glory in the Lord;
    let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
    let us exalt his name together.

 [Psalm 34:1-3]

 We pray for our people; our families and communities.
 The people around us are made in your image;
our neighbours and enemies carry your likeness.
Have mercy on us Jesus, Son of David;
bless us as we follow your path

[silence]

Bidding: I sought the Lord, and He answered me;
Response: He delivered me from all my fears

 We pray for your church.
Intercede for us, and remind us of your sacrifice.
May your work, and your prayers, guide our own
As we strive under your priesthood.
 Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens

 [Hebrews 7:26]

Bidding: I sought the Lord, and He answered me;
Response: He delivered me from all my fears

 We pray for the world.
We thank you for the goodness of your creation
and pray that, for those experiencing disaster, conflict and injustice.
In hope, we declare;
Evil will slay the wicked;
    the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
The Lord will rescue his servants;
    no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

 [Psalm 34:21-22]

[silence]

Bidding: I sought the Lord, and He answered me;
Response: He delivered me from all my fears

We praise you, God, that the light of Christ shines in our darkness and is never overcome;
show us the way we must go to eternal day;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
