10th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Words taken from/inspired by 1 Samuel 8:4-20, 1 Samuel 11:14-15, Psalm 138, Mark 3: 20-35, and 2 Corinthians 4:13–5:1.

Bidding: Your love, Lord, endures forever
Response: Do not abandon the works of your hands

May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord,
    when they hear what you have decreed.
May they sing of the ways of the Lord,
    for the glory of the Lord is great.
Gracious God, thank you for the people with whom we live, work and worship.
Strengthen our bonds with one another;
take us beyond our familiar circles.
Show us what it means to be part of your family,
and how to extend that love to others.

Your love, Lord, endures forever.
Do not abandon the works of your hands.

Remind your church of things unseen and eternal;
lift our eyes.
Don’t let your people lose heart.
Help us to trust you
above all other kings and gods,
and renew us
day by day.

Your love, Lord, endures forever.
Do not abandon the works of your hands.

Thank you for your creation;
we pray for the world.
Lord, you regard the lowly.
You will lift them up.
Preserve their lives
in the midst of trouble.

Your love, Lord, endures forever.
Do not abandon the works of your hands.

I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart;
    before the gods I sing your praise;
 I bow down toward your holy temple
    and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness,
    for you have exalted above all things
    your name and your word.

 On the day I called, you answered me;
    my strength of soul you increased.

 Amen
