A preparation

E te Atua tahuri mai rā
Tohungia mātou,
Ka aho mai tō māramatanga

God, turn to us
Guide us
Your light shines upon us

Engari, e te Atua
ka tangi mātou
mō rātou kua hoki ki tō poho
okioki ai
ratou ki a rātou

And yet, God,
we weep
for those who have returned to your embrace
to rest.

Ka koropiko-
Ka whakawhētai-
Ka whakamoemiti-
Ake tonu atu.
Āmine.

And we worship you-
We give you our thanks-
We praise you-
Forever
Amen.

Let us pray for the church and the world

E te Atua
We turn our gaze from the stars to the land, to sea,
to all parts of your creation, near and far;
And we tremble;
Lift our hearts that we may care for your creation
In humility
And in love.

Bidding: E te Ariki, we turn our faces to you.  Response: may your peace be upon us.

We give thanks for our church;
That you have called us together,
That you have lavished upon us your amazing grace
And allowed us to know something of the great mystery
Whereby you bring unity to all things;
in heaven and on earth under Christ.
Help us, your church, both to enter into your mystery,
And to love where love is most needed in this world.
God, help us.

Bidding: E te Ariki, we turn our faces to you.  Response: may your peace be upon us.

We thank you for our communities;
our places of being.
We thank you for the people with whom we connect.
Help us to make it possible,
in the face of all hopelessness
In these places,
And with these people,
That love and faithfulness can meet together;
and that righteousness and peace may kiss each other.

Bidding: E te Ariki, we turn our faces to you.  Response: may your peace be upon us.

E te Atua
Be with us this week
Like Amos, who was
a shepherd, who took care of fig trees, and became a prophet;
take us where you will,
make of us what you will,
and In our joys, in our sorrows
Be with us all.
Amen.
