 Preparation

E te Atua aroha
Loving God

Titiro atawhai mai
ki a rātou kua wehe ki te pō,
ki a mātou te hunga ora tonu

Look kindly upon our people,
who have passed into the night,
and we who live this day.

For the Church

E te Kairui
Kua ruia nei
Ōu purapura pai
Kei roto i ō mātou ngākau

Sower, you have planted
your good seed
within our hearts.

As you chose David,
the seventh son, the lowliest:
A flawed man.
You knew him, yet through him,
created something new.
So too,
you know us.

As seeds change and bring forth new life,
Christ died for us all
To create in us the heart of something new;
something great.
Bless us to be your church in the world.

E te Atua whakarongo mai ki tā mātou īnoi
[or] Lord, hear our prayer

For the world

 Through us
And with us
Comfort all who suffer illness and unhappiness,
all who suffer in places of conflict.
Comfort those who are lonely,
those in prison, those who know no love,
grant hope to all those who suffer.

E te Atua whakarongo mai ki tā mātou īnoi
[or] Lord, hear our prayer

Our communities

Through us
And with us
Bless our homes, our schools, our workplaces,
our places of community, and of gathering.
Help us to love those who are easy to love
and those who are hard to love.
May your spirit work within us all just the same.

E te Atua whakarongo mai ki tā mātou īnoi
[or] Lord, hear our prayer
