Thy Kingdom Come is here!
Rev. Rebecca Apperley from the Cathedral’s Café Church community is looking forward to hosting intergenerational Zoom prayers during Thy Kingdom Come. Here’s what she has to say:
Recently I heard someone say ‘if we have to spend ages convincing the church to pray, we’re probably doing something wrong’. Such a bold challenge for us as a church, and for me at an individual level as I struggle with my particularly undisciplined prayer life! That’s one of the reasons why I love praying with others – rhythms keep us accountable. It’s probably why Jesus said ‘when 2 or 3 are gathered in my name’ etc..
We’ve been having fun this year learning how to do prayers with our Café Church community household (four older souls, two younger souls, one dog and 7 chickens), and we’re excited about hosting Thy Kingdom Come intergenerational prayers on the Sundays and Wednesdays at 7pm until 23rd May. It’s Pete the dog’s favourite time of day, so you’ll likely meet him too.
Join us by Zoom in our garden shed chapel – love to see you there.
