The Three Conversations
As we lean deeper into prayer for these ten days of Thy Kingdom Come, we are also aware of opportunities for sharing our faith.
A simple tool called The Three Conversations has been developed by Patrick Lencioni.
Anglican Movement whānau might recognize him as author of Five Dysfunctions of a Team and other helpful leadership materials.
The Three Conversations outline three simple but powerful conversations that can help us build deeper connections with the people in our church and community.
The conversations are as follows:
Conversation one: Ask what is going on in their life that you can pray for and then pray for them right there in that moment.
Conversation two: Talk about their favourite story of how their faith journey began and how it has grown.
Conversation three: Discuss how they personally witness to Jesus in their work and in their personal life.
These conversations may seem simple, but they can be a powerful way to connect with others on a deeper level and grow your faith together.
So why not start a conversation today? You might be surprised at how much you and your fellow church members have in common.
Here’s a video that briefly explains the conversations and a PDF.
While the video is timed for the Lenten season, we believe it’s relevant to any season, if we are open to God reaching others through us.
As you pray for your 5 this week leading to Pentecost, may you find this simple tool helpful in sharing the good news with others around you.
