More than a formality—it was a sacred moment of dedicating the year ahead to deepening faith, embracing vulnerability, and serving the wider community.
The service featured an uplifting message from Reverend Alison Robinson, who drew inspiration from the biblical story of Zacchaeus. Highlighting his eagerness to encounter Jesus and the transformation that followed, Alison challenged attendees to emulate Zacchaeus’s boldness. “Draw near to Jesus this year,” she urged, “and practise a wildness that reflects the adventurous life He calls us to.”
Representatives from various communities participated in the service, including Re-new Communities, Taitā Seed Community, Tawa Youth House, Community of the Transfiguration, Northland Parish Community, Common Grace Aotearoa, and Urban Vision.
Each group reaffirmed its commitment to discipleship, community life, and supporting those on society’s margins.
A liturgy led by Urban Vision members reinforced this dedication. It emphasized unity, forgiveness, and a shared mission.
“We commit to giving our best for those who have been pushed to the edges,” they said.
“We will share the good news and work for kingdom transformation.”
