David Chapple has been awarded Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the community and heritage preservation. David has contributed his architectural knowledge to communities pro-bono since the 1970s, helping preserve and maintain historic buildings such as All Saint’s Palmerston North. David has also assisted a number of the churches in our diocese with building projects. Read more about David on Stuff

Michael Webster has been made a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order or CVO (a Royal honour) in the UK New Year Honours list. The Royal Victorian Order was established by Queen Victoria in 1896 to recognise exceptional personal service to the Sovereign and the Royal family. So it’s a personal honour from King Charles as the King of Aotearoa New Zealand for Michael’s service in his last job as Secretary of the Cabinet and Clerk of the Executive Council. Michael is now working as the Privacy Commissioner, and although they moved up to Auckland in 2021, they’re still very much loved by Wellington!
